This stunning hand-painted marriage chest is a rare example of hand-crafted folk art from Morocco, and was originally used to safeguard cherished belongings.

Traditionally, such chests were used to gather hand-finished textiles and other items in preparation for a wedding, reflecting their cultural significance and artisanal heritage.

Crafted around 70-100 years ago, it now offers an elegant storage solution for throws, pillows, magazines, and more. These versatile trunks serve beautifully as tables while providing additional home storage.

Made from solid wood, it features striking and original hand-painted designs. 

Legs may look wonky but are in fact sturdy - this is a primitively hand made item.
